When people think of going away on a party holiday their attention often turns to islands such as Ibiza, Magaluf and Gran Canaria. The fact is, however, that many of the cities in Europe have fantastic night scenes and can offer the party tourist just as good a time. When you then add the culture, infrastructure and activities that these cities have to offer it is surprising that more do not take this option.
Ibiza
Amsterdam – Amsterdam has long been a popular destination for stag doos….and for good reason. The city is packed with bars and clubs, and this, together with the more relaxed laws towards drugs and drink, makes Amsterdam a great option.
Barcelona – Not only does Barcelona have great weather, good beaches and a strong culture, it also has various nightspots which are hugely popular with party seekers. The waterfront in particular has a range of nightclubs covering all different types of genres. For those who enjoy partying way into the early hours of the morning this area is highly recommended.
Athens – Athens is a wonderful city full of history, scenery and culture. Something that many people do not know about the Greeks, however, is that they absolutely love to party. The clubs along the beach are Ibiza-esque and will be well suited to those used to visiting party islands.
One option for partying all summer and living in a place such as Athens, Barcelona or Ibiza is to take a summer job in the sun. By actually working in a place such as Athens, Ibiza, Amsterdam or Berlin, you will have a lot more opportunities. Consider jobs such as waiting tables, working in a local bar or working for one of the resort nightclubs.
