Teléferico Madrid

Madrid is such a beautiful city and on my recent visit there I felt that I was not getting the most out of the scenery and seeing as much of the architecture that I was hoping to. I decided that the best way to get around this was to take a trip on the city’s cable car, the Teléferico Madrid.

The Teléferico Madrid is a wonderful two and a half kilometre cable car which travels over some of Madrid’s best known attractions, providing a wonderful and

unique view. The car departs from the Parque del Oeste, an expansive park in the west of the city, through to the Casa de Campo, which is a vast urban park containing some stunning scenery such as a large lake. Some of the views which can be enjoyed from the car include the Egyptian temple, the Plaza de Espana, the Aeronautical Museum and the Athletico Madrid football stadium.

There are 80 cars in total, with each being able to accommodate 5 people, meaning that there is plenty of capacity and the wait is generally not very long. Access to the Telefrico differs during the summer and winter months. During the summer the cars are open from 1200 until nightfall, whilst in the winter they are open on weekends and holidays only between the hours of 1200 and 1800. The prices are pleasantly cheap with the price for adults three Euros for a single and three Euros and eighty cents for a return.
